Bear with me once more, folks! I promise, this is the last version of the picture I will post here. Probably.
This is an entirely new style for me. It's been an interesting experiment!
Description: Of Tsol'aa descent, Ansari the Architect embodies the classic features one would picture when thinking of his race. He is on the tall side, towering over most with graceful ease. Long silvery hair is held away from his face by a black leathertie, allowing the edges of his hair to tickle against his collar. His muscular torso is partially revealed by the cut of a white cotton shirt that is tucked into a pair of snug-fitting black trousers. A pair of polished black boots rises to his knees, offering protection to his legs as he travels around the continent at the behest of his Mistress. Vivid blue eyes flecked with grey gaze from a handsome face of indeterminate years. Thrown over one shoulder and stretched across his chest like a bandolier is a scroll case which houses parchment and other materials needed for his job.
Room Description: The glossy black marble walls of this chamber are dominated by a collection of parchments. Sketched upon these parchments are numerous blueprints detailing projects past and pending. A large mahogany desk stands in the centre of the chamber, its surface long lost beneath unruly piles. A large chair stands away from the desk, leaning against one wall, offering a full view of the chamber to one who sits within it. Perched upon the edge of the desk within reach of the seat are an ink pot and set of quills, waiting for the Master of this chaos to take them up. Nestled against one wall and beneath a simple alcove filled by a statuette of the Goddess of Vengeance is a simple, unadorned bed, illustrating that he who claims this chamber lives and breathes his work. The floor is the antithesis of the walls and desk. Uncarpeted and swept clean, the marble tiles are etched with the symbols of Vengeance, a simple inspiration in an otherwise utilitarian room. The only light in this dusky antechamber is a pair of sconces on either wall, offering an abundance of illumination by which to work. A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. A platinum sigil in the shape of a writhing flame has been etched into the black-marble floor here. A thoughtful expression is sketched on the features of Ansari, the Architect as he stands here gazing around.
You're so much braver than me. Maybe I'll tackle a portrait of Aderia... someday.
Anyway, critique from a non-visual-artist: I adore the posters on the wall. Anatomy-wise, Ansari is a little misproportioned; his right calf (on the stool) should be thicker and the head larger to match the shoulders. Also, it'd be nice to see a little of the scroll case peeking out over his shoulder; I thought that the strap was part of the shirt until I read the description.
Hmm... the head still feels too small. The calf is better, although I think you should make the boot-top lower because it makes the knee look tiny. Does that make sense?
Yup, it makes sense! And...I think this time this head is too big! I've tried to fix the calf, but it looks like his leg has some sort growth on it. Sigh!
Thank you! We'll see about the Artisanals- I want to fiddle more first. And at this point, I'm just drawing for fun. Maybe I will be good enough to compete eventually, although I'm not holding my breath!
I think the colors are off, but I can't decide what part is off. Maybe the walls? He's in the white shirt, so that makes the top half look a little washed out? Or is it just that I made the posters too dark in comparison to the rest of the picture? Sigh!

And thank you. Maybe -that's- what was bugging me about the head last night.
